About the role:

Our Brisbane Assurance & Advisory team is growing. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in project management and staff supervision, focusing on research, planning, and delivering risk mitigation strategies. This position involves significant client interaction, team leadership, and collaboration with third parties. We value a balanced work culture while fostering career advancement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and address complex technical accounting and audit issues.
  • Conduct reviews of financial statements to ensure compliance with Accounting Standards and prepare reports and management opinions.
  • Perform thorough reviews of audit work and summarise key areas for the partner.
  • Manage multiple audit engagements concurrently, coordinating team members and resources.
  • Train, mentor, and support the audit team while ensuring compliance with methodology.
  • Monitor staffing needs and plan future resource allocation.
  • Assist partners and managers with business development and marketing activities.

About you:

You are a detail-oriented audit professional with strong leadership skills, capable of managing both projects and people. Your analytical mindset and effective communication enable you to build lasting client relationships while delivering high-quality audit outcomes.

Experience and Attributes:

  • 4-5 years of audit experience, including team management.
  • Completed CA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Prior experience managing a team.
  • Business/Commerce degree with an Accounting Major.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Corporations Act, Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards, and related legislation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
