The role
A well-regarded multidiscipline engineering and project delivery firm is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer to join their Brisbane team. The company has a strong footprint in the mining, minerals, and metals sector, delivering practical, high-value solutions for complex processing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed models and technical drawings in line with industry standards and internal procedures
- Lead and facilitate design reviews across multi-discipline teams
- Develop practical layout solutions with a strong focus on efficiency and constructability
- Monitor design progress and ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets
- Collaborate daily with engineers, project managers, clients, and designers
- Provide guidance and leadership to junior team members
- Maintain a high standard of safety in both design and day-to-day practice
- Experience in piping/mechanical design for mining, mineral, or metals projects
- Certificate III or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting (advantageous)
- Proficiency in MicroStation design software (highly regarded)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Competitive hourly rate (negotiable based on experience)
- This is a 3-month contract role, with a view to extension.
