About The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller plays a key role in supporting strategic decision-making through high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and planning. This is a hands-on role, partnering with leaders across the business to drive performance, support growth initiatives, and ensure financial compliance. The role required 5 days on site, where you will join a collaborative finance team in a high-trust, high-performance environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Deliver insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to senior leadership
  • Partner with operational and executive teams to support business strategy through financial modelling and analysis
  • Monitor and enhance cost control measures across business units
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards required
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Support and guide junior accounting staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage financial inputs into strategic projects and support external/internal audit processes

You’ll be a commercially minded and technically strong finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. With a strategic lens and hands-on approach, you're a trusted business partner with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

You Will Bring

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • A degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Financial Controller/ Manager or Senior Finance role
  • You may be a first mover from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm
  • Industry experience in property, hospitality, or investment will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory compliance requirements
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset with high personal integrity
