About The Team
The Commercial Performance Team at EnergyAustralia plays a critical role in driving customer and commercial outcomes by designing and delivering compelling customer value propositions. The team ensures a holistic, data-driven approach to understanding customer needs and aligning them with business goals. By integrating customer insights, market research, and business performance data, the team helps develop targeted products, offers, and experiences that support customer engagement, retention, and EnergyAustralia’s broader goals.
About The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Performance Leader, the Retail Strategy Lead drives a competitive & customer-focused go to market strategy, that balances short-term margin with long-term growth. Leveraging market and customer insights, they collaborate across the business to shape strategies across the customer lifecycle and ensure commercial plans are aligned. About The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Performance Leader, the Retail Strategy Lead drives a competitive & customer-focused go to market strategy, that balances short-term margin with long-term growth. Leveraging market and customer insights, they collaborate across the business to shape strategies across the customer lifecycle and ensure commercial plans are aligned. Other aspects of the role include:
- Foster a high-performance culture within customer teams, promoting collaboration and accountability
- Lead the development and maintenance of core retail strategies such as acquisition, retention, lifecycle strategies and customer segmentation
- Own and maintain customer gross margin models
- Work with the Retail Performance Lead to drive enterprise-wide alignment and execution
- Engage stakeholders across all levels of the organisation and externally, including regulators, to ensure strategic buy-in and delivery
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in a similar lead role, with a strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to develop strong retail strategies. Other things we’re keen on include:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent career experience
- Proven ability to lead the development of commercial strategies and cross-functional roadmap
- Proactive and focused on delivering outcomes, even in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong ability to engage, influence, and motivate teams and colleagues across all levels
- Confident managing competing demands, with the judgment to pause or redirect work when needed
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity with conceptual and lateral thinking to solve complex problems
- Effectively manages multiple projects and deadlines without compromising on quality or impact
