Our client, a global leader in information technologies that drive quality and productivity improvements across geospatial and industrial enterprise applications, is seeking an experienced Automation Tester. Objectives/main objectives:

As an Automation Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the high standard and quality of our client's software products. You will work directly with a dynamic team of programmers and a product manager in an agile environment. Your duties will include the following:

  • Perform Software Quality Assurance and Testing on the company's products.
  • Create, maintain and improve the existing Python automation testing suites and benchmarking tools.
  • Perform user and functional testing.
  • Assist with DevOps tasks, including maintenance of the CI build system.
  • Assist with technical documentation.
  • Liaise directly with customers to ensure the scope and requirements of the software are adequately met.
  • Liaise directly with support and customers to perform software install and error diagnosis.

  • Good customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong, demonstrable problem-solving, technical and analytic skills
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills to manage multiple requests and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work as a member of an integrated team
  • Ability to write technical processes and business documentation; able to communicate issues and resolutions clearly
  • Good listening, questioning and presentation
  • Analytic approach to root-cause analysis and solution of technical problems
  • Ability to liaise with third party providers, consultants, US, European and Asia Pacific technical personnel

Qualifications and position specific requirements:

  • 5 years experience as a software tester/automation testing
  • Python programming language development experience is a must
  • Knowledge and experience with modern automation software testing practices
  • Experience with web standards and technologies (e.g. HTTP, REST, JSON, CSS, HTML, XML, JavaScript etc.)
  • Knowledge of modern software development techniques and methodologies (e.g. Agile/SCRUM)
  • Mapping or GIS systems
  • Visualisation & container technologies (e.g. Hyper-V, Docker)
  • Continuous integration and delivery (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Experience in image processing (geospatial imagery from airborne or satellite sources in the terapixel range) would be considered highly advantageous
  • Experience in multi-language programming & scripting (e.g. Java, C/C++, C#, JavaScript) would be considered highly advantageous
  • Multi-platform development or testing experience (e.g. Windows Server & Linux minimum)
