Primary Objective: The position will work with the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital Operating Theatre to deliver laser, radiology safety and WHS portfolio requirements. The ability to demonstrate advanced perioperative skills, work a flexible roster to meet service delivery, and an understanding of the policy and procedures relevant to the role is required. Holds a current Laser Safety Officer Certificate accredited in accordance to AS/NZS 4173:2018 or willing to obtain. Collaboration within the Multidisciplinary team is necessary to enable functionality of clinical governance of the speciality portfolio including committee meetings, implementation of QI projects and resource management. Whilst a postgraduate qualification is an essential requirement for ongoing appointment to this vacancy, all applicants will be assessed. If the most suitable applicant does not hold the qualification, they may be appointed on a fixed basis with ongoing appointment subject to attaining the qualification during the fixed term. One vacancy is available, either ongoing or fixed for 18 months.
