Your New Role

Reporting to the Transport Manager, we have an opportunity available to join our team in Brooklyn. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective and safe movement of all freight in to and out of our yards. To achieve this, your daily tasks will include:-

  • Promote a safety first culture ensuring commitment to safety, Chain of Responsibility and NHVL.
  • Monitoring Shift activity to ensure schedules are being executed as planned and intervene where resources are running behind.
  • Optimise equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilization, to meet and surpass customer service targets
  • Proactive management of customer, driver & internal stake holder relationships
  • Assist the Transport Manager in day to day operations via administration of Transport operations.
  • To act upon any non-conformances arising within the scope of responsibilities of the position.
  • Identify and make recommendations on corrective actions relating to Safety and Quality issues.

To be successful in this challenging position you will be able to demonstrate the following skills or attributes,

  • Robust knowledge of Transport & Logistics with experience in a similar role
  • Sound knowledge of relevant transport industry codes and NHVL.
  • Excellent scheduling, planning and time management skills.
  • An organised and systematic approach to work with a high attention to detail.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Transport, Business or in a similar field are desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to be flexible with work hours.
