What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a Biosecurity Team Member to join our high performing Biosecurity team. You’ll play a critical role in implementing Council’s biosecurity related plans and complying with relevant legislation.
What your day will look like:
- Assisting with the implementation of our Biosecurity Plan
- Undertaking programmed chemical controls of declared pest species per our Annual Action Plan
- Assisting with baiting, trapping and biocontrol activities
- Assisting with public awareness programs
- Identifying plant pest species for control and providing data to Biosecurity Supervisor
- Inputting control data and maintaining accurate records

What you’ll need for success:
Experience in a similar role along with the ability to identify pest plant and animal species will be highly regarded but not essential. Competent using electronic mapping and other tools, you’ll be comfortable following a weekly list of programmed works and working as part of a dedicated team. Experience in public contact and customer service would benefit you in this role.
You’ll have:
- Current QLD Firearms Licence (or ability to obtain)
- Commercial Operations (ACDC) Licence
- Current QLD Boat Licence
