Business Unit Overview
Our Operations unit is the engine room of Superloop - responsible for maintaining and supporting all of our products and internal technical infrastructure to ensure the best possible service to both our customers and our very own business. Our Operations unit is responsible for ensuring that the business has the technical capability and capacity to deliver services to all Superloop customers ranging from Home Broadband to International Wholesale.
Role Purpose
As part of the Network Engineering Management team, the Lead Network Engineer is responsible for the design and evolution of network architecture. You’ll collaborate closely with the Principal Engineer to align network design with our strategic technical vision, ensure consistency in architectural decisions, and drive continuous improvement across engineering practices.
In this role, you’ll also work with engineers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the network supports business objectives now and into the future.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop network architectures, includinghardware, software, topology, and protocols.
- Contribute technical expertise to product development, automation, and analytics initiatives.
- Mentor and support the continuous development of network engineering teams.
- Act as a senior escalation point for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
- Create and maintain lifecycle management frameworks, covering planning, design, implementation, operation, and decommissioning.
- Review and refine Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation to ensure effective network changes.
- Manage and maintain strong technical relationships with network vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Network Operations, Service Delivery, Network Provisioning, Presales, Product, Sales, and Commercial.
- Adhere to all company policies and workplace health and safety standards.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a senior network engineer, ideally within telecommunications.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, deploying, and operating large-scale service provider networks, with a strong focus on IPv4/IPv6 routing, IS-IS, BGP, and BNG. subscriber termination using PPPoE and IPoE.
- In-depth experience with MPLS technologies, including LDP, RSVP-TE, Segment Routing, L2VPN (VPWS and VPLS), and EVPN (VPWS and ELAN.
- Strong working knowledge of network management protocols, including SNMP, SSH, NetFlow, Syslog, RADIUS, DHCP, and NETCONF.
- Excellent documentation and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Solid project management capabilities.
- CCIE certification or equivalent experience is highly regarded.
