What will I work on?
As a Creative Lead, you will:
- Own the creative development of live-action projects from brief to shoot day—crafting original concepts, writing compelling scripts, and ensuring ideas translate effectively to screen.
- Pitch and present concepts to clients, balancing vision with feasibility and stakeholder needs.
- Direct live-action shoots, bringing energy, leadership, and clarity on set to capture top-tier performances and visuals.
- Think within constraints—adapting ideas to fit timeframes, budgets, and logistical realities without compromising quality or storytelling impact.
- Collaborate with producers, DOPs, editors and designers to shape content that’s polished, purposeful, and on-brand.
If you were with us last week, you would have:
- Developed a series of video concepts for a fast-turnaround social campaign for a global tech brand, balancing creativity with budget.
- Directed a one-day shoot in Melbourne, coaching non-actors on camera and working closely with the DOP to capture impactful visuals.
- Scripted and storyboarded a 60-second brand piece, presenting the concept to the client and incorporating feedback to refine the direction.
Skills, Education & Experience Requirements
- Has 5+ years of experience as a creative, copywriter, or director in commercial production.
- Knows how to craft story-driven concepts that land with audiences—and clients.
- Is equally confident in the pitch room and on set—able to sell an idea, then direct it with confidence.
- Has a strong grasp of budgets, schedules, and production realities, and knows how to flex ideas to suit.
- Can write tight, engaging scripts, especially for explainer, testimonial, social and brand-driven formats.
- Thrives in collaboration and can take feedback constructively while protecting the creative integrity of the work.
