Create impact as a Manager, Group Portfolio Management
Your Role
At IAG, we’re driven by a simple purpose to make your world a safer place. We’re looking for a strategic, analytical leader to join our Chief Underwriting Office and take the lead on Group Portfolio Management (GPM) and insurance risk governance.
In this high-impact role, you’ll develop and maintain a coordinated, long-term GPM strategy that aligns with IAG’s enterprise goals. You’ll support divisional portfolio planning, consolidate insights across the group, and provide executive-ready analysis on portfolio composition and performance. You’ll also support the Group Chief Underwriting Officer in shaping and executing insurance risk governance frameworks, helping to prepare key papers and reports for group committees.
Your ability to synthesise complex data into clear, strategic insights will be critical in influencing executive decisions. You’ll lead a small, high-performing team, provide thought leadership across the business, and ensure timely action when portfolio outcomes shift.

About You
- At least 12 years’ experience in a strategy, strategic or management role with experience in the insurance industry, or in the insurance industry with a performance management focus.
- Strong knowledge of general insurance market .
- Strong analytical skills. Able to analyse data and synthesise and develop findings to support management decision making.
- Strong understanding of the drivers of insurer financial performance.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Highly developed report writing and communication skills.
- Highly organised, with high attention to detail and forward planning.
- Able to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives .
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications e.g. Actuarial, Finance, Insurance.
- Relevant industry qualifications e.g. ANZIIF.
