About the Role
The Clinical Coder Trainee will undertake an in-house training program to build and consolidate coding skills to achieve independence in low level complexity. The Clinical Coder Trainee will focus on accurately coding inpatient episodes while meeting established throughput quotas. The trainee will be part of a fantastic team, all working in an environment where coding, casemix, and clinical documentation initiatives are strongly backed by Grampians Health's Executive and Clinical Directors.
The Coding Leadership Team will support your ongoing development of coding skills, and we promote professional growth with opportunities for career advancement. Grampians Health utilises a Digital Medical Record system, fostering innovation in coding practices and offering flexible work arrangements. There may be ongoing opportunity to continue to develop and work within our coding team.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in training program to accurately code inpatient episodes in accordance with Australian Coding Standard- s Meet training standards of coding accuracy and volum
- e Participate in coding quality and education activities
Skills & Experience
Health Information Manager or Clinical Coder qualificatio- n Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skill
- s Competent with MS Office application
- s Knowledge of National Activity Based Funding mode
- l Knowledge and experience with Digital Medical Records
