Personal Care Worker - Terrace Gardens

About the role

ARRCS Terrace Gardens Aged Care facility are seeking a qualified and experienced Personal Care Worker to join the team on a permanent, part-time basis, working EVENING / OVERNIGHT shifts of 21.45pm – 06.45am working a total of 45 hours per fortnight on a set roster.

Based in Darwin, NT. These roles attract a salary of $35.01 - $36.55 / hour dependent on skills and experience.

When working at Terrace Gardens you will be providing care and support within the facility undertaking personal care including grooming, showering, and dressing, mobility and assistance with meals in accordance with the resident’s care plans.

These roles are suited to people who have care and compassion and enjoy interacting with our residents within our facilities. You will bring previous experience in an aged care or disability support role and will have the skills and experience to complete work with respect and professionalism whilst having supervision from our facilities senior nursing staff when required. You will provide a strong work ethic whilst being able to ensure that the care and wellbeing of our residents are kept to the highest standards.

As the successful candidate, you will understand that you are employed as a permanent part-time with a fixed roster. Additional shifts may come available on an ad hoc basis.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, we would require you to demonstrate the following:

• Minimum of Certificate III or higher in Aged Care, Disability or Individual Care.
• Demonstrated experience in assisting with the activities of daily living in an Aged Care setting.
• Demonstrated effective and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage and work within a culturally diverse team environment.
• An ability to undertake a range of manual handling functions relevant to the role.
• Proof of or willing to obtain the following mandatory requirements:
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • National Police Check (dated within 3 months).
  • Current year Flu Vaccination
