Our Manufacturing & Maintenance – Transport business is seeking a high performing Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team in Newcastle. We are looking for an individual with a proven track to spearhead our OEM and Maintenance team and drive the adoption of best practices, ensuring compliance and continual improvement within our National operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement: Regularly engage with stakeholders and key suppliers to foster strong partnerships and ensure alignment with business goals
- Team Mentorship: Mentor and guide the purchasing team, facilitating skill development and professional growth.
- Supplier Management: Lead supplier order book management, including rescheduling activities and monitoring
- Supplier Management: Lead supplier order book management, including rescheduling activities and monitoring Delivery in Full On Time (DIFOT) performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process re-engineering and SOP implementation, ensuring compliance with business and group policies.
- System Optimisation: Improve the use and efficacy of SAP for procurement processes, driving system-wide enhancements.
- KPI Management: Manage and monitor functional KPIs and dashboards, conducting regular reviews to streamline operations.
- Purchase Order Management: Verify and validate purchase orders in line with business Delegation of Authority (DoA).
- Safety Leadership: Lead by example, ensuring safety in all activities and compliance with UGL HSSE policies and legislative requirements.
- Inventory Optimisation: Collaborating with Planning, Operational and Warehousing teams to establish optimal levels of inventory.
- Proven experience in procurement management with a focus on operational efficiency and team leadership.
- Extensive experience in a similar or related role with a strong grasp of commercial and compliance parameters
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Proven ability to implement positive changes in quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Strong SAP skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
