The Opportunity

The Director of Building Services and Capital Delivery is a newly created position crucial in leading and guiding the organisation's infrastructure, engineering, capital development, and sustainability efforts. The critical position combines physical infrastructure and engineering compliance to ensure the provision of safe, efficient, and forward-thinking facilities across its diverse health asset portfolio.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Promoting innovation and spearheading transformation within the building services and capital division to advance organisational strategies focused on environmental sustainability, smart technologies, and risk management.
  • Developing and implementing an infrastructure and engineering strategy that aligns with organisational goals and governmental regulations.
  • Managing long-term capital development planning, design, and execution to fulfil organisational growth, deadlines, budgets, and changing healthcare needs.
  • Offering specialised advice to the executive leadership team regarding infrastructure, capital projects, and engineering priorities.
  • Evaluating and overseeing preventive maintenance initiatives to reduce downtime and enhance reliability.
  • Ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including building codes, healthcare facility requirements, and OHS regulations.
  • Working alongside organisational leaders to implement infrastructure and engineering solutions into service delivery models while engaging with industry partners, agencies, and contractors to promote best practices and secure funding.

You Will Possess The Following

  • Postgraduate qualifications to Masters level in Engineering, Facility Management, Architecture, or Business Administration, or equivalent senior management experience.
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure, engineering, and capital development leadership within a healthcare or complex organisational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale capital projects, including planning, execution, and governance aligned with sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and complex funding arrangements.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and the proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams across diverse geographic locations and facility types.
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills and proven experience fostering effective working relationships across various stakeholders.
