About The Role
The Senior Systems Engineer is based at Murarrie, QLD Australia and is an experienced position responsible for supporting technology development, integration and testing activities through the application of disciplined systems engineering approaches to concept definition, requirements management and validation/verification events.
Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Application of Systems Engineering disciplines to product development through concept development, requirements establishment, design reviews and prototyping events through to practical integration and testing.
- Supporting product improvement programs through close consultation with existing teams in order to develop upgrade, improvements and efficiencies to Tritium products and capabilities.
- Contribute to Preliminary, Detailed and Critical Design Reviews as a Systems Engineering practitioner.
- Analyse complex systems including power, communications, computing hardware and supporting systems in order to reverse engineer capabilities and provide advice on improvements, changes and modifications as requested.
- Analyse regulatory frameworks and document applicability to Tritium systems and sub-systems, as well as Tritium compliance.
- Assist in the development and refinement of requirements capture as part of V&V and certification process
- Assess certification requirements to assist the transition of product from prototype to certification stage.
- Review of new and emerging standards and regulations, clear interpretation of vehicle charging standards.
- Generation of standards compliance documentation for existing fast charger products and upcoming related projects.
- Assist design engineers with aspects relating to personnel safety circuitry, EMC filtering, and high voltage safety compliance.
- Assisting validation and test engineers with testing of prototypes
- Assist with overseas lab testing. Liaison with external partners and suppliers.
- Remaining abreast of the latest developments in engineering and regulatory requirements including UL, CSA, IEC, RED, IEEE, ROSH, etc. and how they apply to DC fast charging equipment
- Preparing and presenting internal training materials for design team to keep them up to date with developments in relevant standards.
- Provide advice to teams and leadership on capabilities, deficiencies, priority areas of change and/or improvement on discreet, sub-system or system level boundaries and interfaces.
- Provide support to operational environments as required in order to support First Pass Yield, System Availability and Clear to Build initiatives.
- Contribute to a company level reliability framework through the application of robust, fit for purpose test events and execution of those events.
- Support rapidly changing objectives and product development with expert discipline, knowledge and experience to Operations with Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to operational manufacturing, field issues.
- Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Systems and/ or Electronics Engineering or related field
- 4-10 years’ experience in Engineering of electronics products in a regulated environment (automotive, medical, aerospace, defense, solar, etc.)
- Experience in a similar level technical role and management of outcomes in support of product certification
- Experience with electrical safety with bias towards test approach and execution, similar background to compliance of inverters, power supplies, solar products, etc.
- Experience working with 3rd party external test accreditation providers and test facilities desirable
- Experience with requirements definition and scoping, desirable experience in commercial requirements management tools beneficial.
- A background in electronic circuit and product design; of interest would be experience in assisting design teams with aspects relating to product safety compliance approach.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous in your approach.
- Experience in the generation of detailed paperwork and reports to support submissions to relevant standards and industry bodies.
- Understanding and maintaining/creating documentation within ISO 9001 and IEC/ISO 17025 systems
