Senior ETL & Data Integration Engineer with agile delivery – SAS, Oracle

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior ETL Data Integration Specialist to join a high-performing data delivery team supporting mission-critical projects in a secure government environment. This role involves working with a wide range of enterprise data technologies, delivering impactful data solutions across the full development lifecycle within both Agile (SAFe) and traditional SDLC frameworks.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in SAS Data Integration, Oracle, and enterprise scheduling tools, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical execution and business requirements in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain ETL workflows using SAS Data Integration Studio, Base SAS, IBM LSF Flow, and Oracle databases.
• Design and implement batch schedules and data pipelines in accordance with enterprise data architecture and governance standards.
• Work through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile (SAFe) delivery practices to meet stakeholder requirements.
• Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable data integration solutions.
• Conduct data profiling, mapping, and analysis to support data quality, migration, remediation, and reporting initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including technical design, mapping specifications, and deployment plans.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of ETL processes.
• Manage and prioritise workload independently, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of key project deliverables.

Criteria

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in:
  • SAS Data Integration Studio, Base SAS, IBM LSF Flow
  • Working with Oracle databases or similar RDBMS
• Proven delivery capability across the full SDLC and Agile (SAFe) environments.
• Strong knowledge of ETL and batch scheduling practices, data acquisition frameworks and enterprise-grade data processing.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to self-manage tasks, work under minimal supervision, and deliver to deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW), Microsoft SQL Server, Hadoop, Cognos, Qlik, or other BI/reporting tools.
• Demonstrated leadership traits through ownership of complex data integration challenges and mentoring team members.
• Experience driving business change through proactive solutioning and data-driven insight delivery.
• Strong hands-on experience with data migration, remediation, integration, and metadata management.
