What are we looking for?

The Queensland Medical Law team is now seeking a Lawyer with at least 1 year post admission experience to join our high-performing team.

If you are motivated, enthusiastic and keen to kick start your career, then this opportunity is not to be missed. You will be reporting to an experienced Senior Lawyer who will guide and mentor you in this role, and take an active role in the development of your career at Slater and Gordon.

Slater and Gordon’s National Medical Law lawyers across the country are respected for their professionalism, skill and integrity, as they assist clients who are impacted by medical negligence, that is, the failure of a health-care provider, including public and private hospitals, general practitioners and specialists, to treat our clients with reasonable care and skill causing injury. The role will also enable you to gain experience in our Public Liability practice which will complement and enhance your skill base and experience.

Day to day duties will include

  • actively assist in the progression of existing matters
  • management of a file load under supervision
  • liaising with clients in an empathetic manner
  • preparing advices, correspondence, briefs and court documents
  • providing clear, practical and concise legal and commercial advice to clients
  • continually exploring new opportunities for your practice.
  • ongoing training and development
