Senior Scrum Master – Agile Delivery (Data Projects | SAFe | Government Experience Preferred)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master with a strong track record in delivering data-centric projects using Agile and SAFe methodologies, preferably in government or large enterprise environments. This role requires someone who thrives in greenfield or low Agile maturity environments, with the ability to roll up their sleeves, lead by example, and uplift Agile capabilities across teams.

You will be responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching teams, removing impediments, and driving the successful delivery of high-quality data initiatives. Experience in data warehouse, data migration, or analytics programs is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coach and lead one or more Scrum teams, ensuring effective Agile practices are adopted and continuously improved.
• Facilitate core Agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Lead Agile Program Increment (PI) planning and coordination across multiple squads (SAFe).
• Identify and resolve delivery blockers, manage risks and dependencies, and escalate where necessary.
• Track team health, velocity, and delivery outcomes using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Build trusted relationships with Product Owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Support the design and implementation of Agile operating models and contribute to delivery strategy.
• Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years as a Scrum Master in Agile delivery environments.
• Proven experience in data projects: data warehouse, reporting platforms, data transformation, or migration.
• Demonstrated experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and facilitation of PI planning.
• Strong understanding of Agile principles, delivery lifecycles, and servant leadership.
• Hands-on experience with Agile tools – JIRA, Confluence, Agile dashboards, and reporting.
• Ability to influence and coach teams, uplift Agile capability, and drive delivery in low-maturity settings.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including interaction with executive, product, technical, and cross-agency teams.
• Experience working in or with government agencies is highly desirable.

Desirable:

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
• Experience in transformation from project-based to product-based delivery models
• Background in business analysis or delivery management
• Experience working within federal government environments
• Technical understanding of data platforms, data governance, or cloud-based delivery (e.g., Azure Data Platform)
