About Terra Verde:


Terra Verde is a joint venture between Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia, and Bouygues Construction Australia


The joint venture combines experienced local personnel with global resources and expertise.


Terra Verde is delivering nearly 10 kilometres of parallel tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill, including 39 cross passages and two station boxes at Glen Waverley and Burwood in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, as part of the Suburban Rail Loop Project.


This is the largest infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, shaping Melbourne and Victoria for future generations.


About the Role:


We're looking for a proactive and dedicated professional to help drive our safety culture across the Project. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and monitoring Safety and Health Management requirements, strategies, and initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with Zone Health and Safety Managers and the wider project team, providing expert guidance and clear direction to ensure a consistent and proactive approach to health and safety.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Champion risk management by identifying hazards, promoting risk awareness, and improving work practices. Ensure compliance with legislation and safety systems, setting a strong example for others.
  • Lead and support the design and delivery of safety programs, policies, and initiatives in collaboration with the SLT and wider business
  • Drive a positive safety culture and continuous improvement through proactive analysis, reporting, and performance evaluation
  • Provide expert support to internal stakeholders, including project teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Foster strong relationships and an inclusive team culture to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently, promoting accountability and open dialogue at all levels.
  • Stay visible and engaged across the project, building trust and reinforcing safe behaviours.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, contractual, and policy requirements


What We’re Looking For:


  • Solid understanding of Safety and Health Management systems
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and perform statistical analysis to support safety outcomes
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant Safety and Health legislation, with the ability to interpret and apply regulations to project-specific contexts
  • Proven ability to lead complex investigations involving multiple internal and external stakeholders


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline Certified Safety Lead Auditor (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in safety and health roles within construction, heavy industry, or other high-risk environments


Skills and Attributes:


  • Skilled in monitoring, auditing, incident review, reporting, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance and compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and a readiness to learn and adapt to other digital systems and tools
