Using our extensive in-field experience, we design, engineer, build and operate world class pile-installation, lifting equipment and drilling equipment to deliver tubular foundations of any size, in any geology, anywhere.


MENCK Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Pile Driving Technician to support offshore foundation installation projects. The role involves operating and maintaining MENCK hydraulic hammers, including pile driving, regular inspections, and handling hydraulic and mechanical components such as transport locks, hammer foot, suspension units, and nitrogen accumulators. The technician will also work on hydraulic torque wrenches, umbilical winches, adapter rings, power containers, and hydraulic winches-conducting tests such as isolation/continuity checks and pressure tests. Responsibilities include basic maintenance of power packs, engines, exhaust systems, and electrical installations. This is a hands-on, offshore-based role ideal for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and experience in marine piling or offshore equipment handling.


The role will be in offshore Australia, field located in 620km NNE of Broome, 300km from mainland, on a rotating shift of 12 hours across two teams for 7 days on a rotation of 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off basis. The role is specific to this offshore project only for up to 120 days and employment will not be extended beyond this project.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, repair, overhaul and retrofit work on all types of company or client's hydraulic systems, components and equipment
  • Ability to resolve motor, pump and hydraulic problems
  • Use hand tools like power tools and rigging equipment daily
  • Hand simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like forklifts, scissor lifts, gantry and overhead cranes
  • Ensure high level technical support to lower-level technicians and show expertise in working with team and independently
  • To communicate regularly to your Manager and Supervisor of work progress updates, including feedback on possible delays or conflict of priorities
  • Work all times within the requirements of workplace health and safety legislation
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties consistent with the above as directed from time to time by the Workshop Manager or Head of Operations
  • Ensuring compliance with company and client QHSE system and safe systems of work


Requirements

  • Holds valid Offshore Medical, BOSIET, Work at Height and GWO's Certificates
  • Experience working offshore and medically fit to work offshore
  • Completion of an apprenticeship as Technician, an Electrician, a Mechanic or similar
  • Practical experience working in Hydraulics, Mechanic and Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, R&I flowcharts, circuit diagrams, hydraulic diagrams and flow charts
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving experience in a similar role
  • Engineering-related qualifications, such as a diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, would be an advantage
  • A strong appreciation for health and safety practices
  • A team player with great communication and customer relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and fast-track priorities with a proactive and positive attitude with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation as well as working collaboratively within a team
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills supported by good attention to details
  • Proven track record of upholding the highest QHSE standards
  • Ability to travel internationally and offshore as/when required
