Our Opportunity

Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor


Work Location: Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.


Roster: 8D6X ex Perth.


Reporting to the Superintendent Mechanical Maintenance, the Supervisor role will oversee the crusher maintenance related activities.

The Supervisor will ensure all Fortescue contractor and subcontractor maintenance personnel are compliant to Fortescue HSE procedures and ensure all mobile equipment is maintained as per OEM recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and prioritize repairs.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring availability when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, reports, and logs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure operational goals are met and address any facility-related concerns.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in a maintenance supervisor or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge in work management and SAP.
  • Understanding of WHS requirements.
  • Schedule 26 Certification
