Work Location: Cloudbreak
- Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster – 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth
Your primary responsibility will be to perform and coordinate various tasks related to instrumentation and electrical systems. This includes maintenance, installation, and development activities.
Additionally, when required, you may be asked to step into the role of the Electrical Supervisor and fulfill the associated responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet availability & accuracy targets and objectives taking cognizance of safety, health, environmental and legal requirements
- Execute electrical projects to improve and optimize operations by meeting set timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards. Simultaneously, foster personal development and growth while providing timely, comprehensive feedback via the BMS system.
- Enhances equipment performance by continuously monitoring its effectiveness and providing recommendations for necessary improvements.
- Continuously monitor and benchmark technology to drive ongoing enhancements by identifying potential improvements, justifying operational needs, specifying technical requirements, testing, and evaluating alternatives, and offering recommendations for the selection process.
- Facilitate the implementation of new systems and equipment while adhering to specifications through the execution of tasks such as detailed design, device programming, equipment configuration and calibration, as well as commissioning and installation of electrical, mechanical, and communication components.
- Provide technical advice to team members
- Provides an administrative and data verification service to the designated section, taking cognizance of information
- capture accuracy requirements
- Leads and manages self and team by encouraging safe behaviour through the application of Safety management tools
Qualifications and Experience
- Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence.
- High voltage switching certificate.
- Certificate IV in instrumentation (desired).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment.
- Proven experience in PLC systems and control communication systems.
- Competent understanding of process/manufacturing
- Proficient in the use of computer maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven ability to make decisions and cover high-level responsibilities during off-hours and weekends.
