Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Nginx & Angular Migration

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Nginx, Angular (v18), and Node.js (v20) to support a critical migration program within a federal government agency. You will lead infrastructure setup, optimize deployment pipelines, and ensure secure, high-performance application hosting during and after migration from existing Nginx platforms.

You will work closely with application development teams, DevOps engineers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery, technical excellence, and long-term sustainability of the solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Setup & Migration:
  • Design, configure, and optimize infrastructure components for PPC+ migration.
  • Lead the migration of Angular applications from Nginx servers to other target platforms.
  • Implement and manage Nginx, Node.js, and Angular environments for production and development.
• Automation & DevOps:
  • Automate infrastructure tasks using Python, GitLab CI/CD, and Ansible.
  • Streamline deployment processes to support continuous integration and delivery practices.
• Knowledge Transfer & Documentation:
  • Provide detailed technical documentation, handover materials, and mentoring to internal teams.
  • Conduct walkthroughs and training sessions to ensure sustainable internal capability.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
  • Monitor infrastructure health, application performance, and resolve system issues proactively.
  • Conduct performance tuning and root cause analysis post-deployment.
• Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure all configurations and deployments comply with agency security and governance standards.
  • Integrate security best practices throughout the delivery pipeline.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong experience with Angular (v18) and Node.js (v20)
• Expert-level knowledge of Nginx server setup, customization, and maintenance
• Proficiency in Python scripting, GitLab CI/CD, and Ansible
• Experience deploying container-based or hybrid cloud infrastructure (preferred)
• Familiarity with government security compliance frameworks (ISM, PSPF)
• Previous experience supporting digital transformation in Australian Government agencies
• Track record of successful greenfield infrastructure deployments
• Understanding of legacy-to-cloud migration strategies
