About the Role
CareSouth is currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Caseworker to join our Permanency Support Program predominanty supporting young people residing in our ITC-SD programs based in Orange & Blayney. The sucessful applicant will spend most of their time working within the residential service whilst providing direct professional case management to children, young people and their families. The primary focus of this position is the ongoing assessment and investigation of appropriate support services to assist families to connect with support services. The role of the Caseworker is to be an advocate for the children, young people and families to enable change that ensures that children and young people are safe and that their social, emotional, health and education is improved.
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Diploma in Social Sciences / Social Welfare or equivalent.
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues facing vulnerable children and their families.
- Sound interpersonal, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a high performing team.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective community networks.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, Cultural issues and the NSW Child Protection system.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Willing to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain a (NSW) Working with Children Check clearance number and/or (ACT) Working with Vulnerable People Card.
