About The Role
Are you passionate about credit risk management and looking for a pivotal role that contributes to business objectives and overall strategy? We have an exciting opportunity for you!
As a key player in our team, your primary purpose will be to analyse, assess, structure, and make decisions on BOQ Business SME and Middle Market Commercial submissions. You will exercise an appropriate Delegated Approval Authority (DAA) or present the submission to the appropriate DAA holder.

About You
We are looking for someone with a sound background in all aspects of credit risk and a strong customer focus, both internal and external. You should have exercised credit approval authority in a major financial institution and possess the ability to read, understand, and analyse financial statements and corporate structures.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to consider and integrate a broad range of factors in structuring and decisioning proposals, including general creditworthiness, risk identification and mitigation, cash flow adequacy, repayment capacity, and property valuation principles. A strong understanding and application of bank policies is essential. You should also have highly developed communication and consultation skills at all levels of the organisation, with a proven ability to write effective reports, address meetings, and facilitate group discussions.
Empathetic interpersonal skills and a professional, balanced approach are crucial for this role. You should be able to manage and prioritise workflows independently and have a solid understanding of key business drivers and success factors in business.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act, National Consumer Credit Protection Act, Bankruptcy Act, Privacy Act, Property Law Act, Corporations Act, Environmental Protection Act, Australian Competition and Consumer Act, Banking Act, and Trade Practices Act, is also required.

- Ensuring loan documentation reflects all approval conditions.
- Conducting periodic reviews to monitor and ensure the risk-rating is appropriate.
- Initiating and implementing remedial actions to keep the Bank's exposure within its risk appetite.
- Coaching and mentoring colleagues to promote a best-practice risk culture throughout the organisation.
