About This Role

On behalf of our client - Woodside Energy, a Global Energy Company, Brunel is presently sourcing a Senior Contracts Adviser. You will be a key member of the Contracts Team who will lead and drive commercial outcomes across multiple portfolios including Rotating Equipment; Control Systems, Instrumentation and Measurement; HSE & Quality and Maintain, Repair and Operate. This will be a 24mth contract located in Perth CBD.

  • Lead Commercial and Contracting outcomes in the designated portfolio areas
  • Ensure contracts, purchase orders and call-offs comply with Company Work Management Systems
  • Take accountability for the contracting lifecycle including preparing Category Strategies, Sourcing Plans, ITT/RFQs, Contract Authorisation Forms, Contractual Clarification Registers, Tender Evaluation Plans, Contract Variations and other associated approval documents
  • Continually identify and pursue commercial and cost saving opportunities within the portfolio
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure evaluation criteria, terms & conditions and agreed departures are risk appropriate
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate representation and visibility of commercial matters Ensure that commercial and contracting services are given sufficient front-end consideration in the development of Category Strategies, Contracting Strategies and project schedules
  • Ensure delivery of business needs to schedule, cost and quality
  • Compile and monitor market intelligence
  • Maintain work plans, forecasts and reporting requirements


Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Business, Commerce OR Law
  • Extensive experience preferably in a Legal, Category Specialist or Contracts Advisory role
  • Experience with the negotiation of standard energy industry contracts including general conditions containing 'knock-for knock' indemnity regimes, limitations of liability, IP and confidentiality clauses
  • Ability to draft first pass responses to contractor clarifications while working closely with internal Legal Advisors to negotiate and resolve
  • Experience in the full tender life cycle, specifically within the strategy and pre-award stage
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication to all internal and external levels
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Confident people and stakeholder management skills
  • Effective decision making in the presence of uncertainty and risk, considering and balancing business dimensions, eg technical, cost, schedule
  • An individual who is both passionate and resilient with flexibility in working within demanding projects
  • Strong negotiation skills
