The sweet things you'll be involved in:

As a Laboratory Technician, you'll play an important hands-on role in supporting our quality assurance program. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager and working closely with both the Quality and Operations teams, you'll be involved in everything from sample collection to analysis and process improvement.

What you'll be doing:

  • Put your testing skills to work by conducting chemical and microbiological analysis of sugar and syrup products at different stages of production.
  • Keep things running smoothly by collecting and preparing samples, managing data accurately, and maintaining laboratory records to the highest standard.
  • Be a quality champion — identify and report any non-conformances, contribute to improvement initiatives, and help drive excellence in every batch we produce.
  • Take pride in your workspace, ensuring the lab is clean, well-organised, and equipment is in top condition.
  • Keep things stocked and moving, monitoring lab supplies and consumables to prevent any testing delays
  • Collaborate with great people — work closely with the Quality, Technical, and Operations teams to meet production and quality goals together.
  • Grow your skills through training and development opportunities and involvement in our Quality Achievement Plan.

What we're wanting you to bring to the table:

This role is ideal for someone who's analytical, organised, and ready to be hands-on in a busy lab environment. You'll also need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Science or related discipline
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally in FMCG or food manufacturing
  • Knowledge of chemical and microbiological analysis techniques
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and commitment to safety and quality
