The Commercial Analyst is a critical member of the Commercial team. This role is responsible for influencing strategic business growth and optimisation across the organisation. The position is accountable for high-level business evaluations, complex financial modelling, and strategic recommendations to optimise revenue, profitability, and market position.
What you'll do
- Influence and shape the development of long-term commercial strategies that align with the organisation's strategic vision and goals, including market expansion, product diversification, and business transformation programs.
- Design and present strategic analytical frameworks for corporate planning, budgeting, and forecasting purposes.
- Lead benchmarking analyses to identify growth opportunities and emerging industry trends.
- Build predictive models to guide business investment decisions including product development, business improvement, pricing strategies, taxation, and commission reviews.
- Analyse multi-source data (e.g. sales channels, customer demographics, and third-party data sources) to generate actionable insights for leadership and Board reporting.
- Evaluate business initiatives through financial modelling, scenario analysis and risk assessment.
- Advise leadership on strategic priorities using data-driven commercial acumen.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to optimise processes and analyse potential operational improvements.
- Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment on strategic projects.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, or Business Administration.
- Advanced analytics tools: SQL, Python/R, Excel.
- Data visualisation: Tableau, COGNOS, Excel, Powerpoint.
- CPA/CFA, or working towards, preferred.
- Strong level of personal organisation.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments promptly and effectively.
- Ability to work across organisation, build partnerships, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Experience working in a commercial, finance, or business function, preferably in gambling, or regulated environment.
