The Community Engagement Lead plays a pivotal role in delivering on Pedal Power’s mission. You’ll lead strategies to grow our membership, support and expand our volunteer base, and coordinate events and campaigns that bring people into the cycling community.
You’ll work closely with the Executive Director and the broader team, including the Advocacy Coordinator, Marketing and Communications Officer, Program Support Officer, and Office Manager, to ensure members and volunteers feel connected, supported, and engaged.
This is a varied and relationship-driven role, ideal for someone who enjoys turning ideas into action and is confident managing competing priorities in a small, high-impact team.
- Lead the review, development and implementation of Pedal Power’s membership strategy to drive growth and retention
- Manage day-to-day membership operations, including overseeing volunteers who assist with member services
- Build and coordinate a robust volunteer network that supports programs, advocacy, and community events
- Plan, organise and deliver community events and promotional activities in collaboration with staff and external partners
- Support advocacy and campaign efforts by engaging members and volunteers
- Maintain accurate data, generate monthly reports, and assist with general office functions
- Take on other projects or responsibilities as required, aligned with Pedal Power’s strategic priorities
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with experience in community outreach or engagement
- Proven organisational ability, initiative, and capacity to meet deadlines and juggle priorities
- Experience working collaboratively with staff and volunteers, including availability for occasional after-hours events
- Demonstrated experience recruiting, managing and motivating volunteers
- Ability to build and sustain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Competence in office administration, data management, and reporting
- Flexibility, resilience and a problem-solving mindset
- Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Background in not-for-profit, membership-based, or recreational organisations

- Flexible work arrangements: You’ll be based in our city office, with some flexibility in scheduling and TOIL for any after-hours events
