About The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Civil Designer to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in creating detailed, high quality civil designs for a variety of major infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven engineer or equivalent to contribute to impactful projects while growing within a dynamic team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Carry out civil design work for infrastructure projects
- Interpret and understand the Project Scope and Technical Requirements
- Conduct detailed Civil design, calculations, reports and specifications including: early works, utilities and conduits, geotechnical general interpretation and earthworks analyses, alignment design, drainage, pavements, road/tunnel safety
- Communicate with and take direction from Senior Engineer’s to ensure that line wide requirements are understood and incorporated into deliverables
- Follow line wide standards for design to ensure commonality is achieved across precincts
- Participate and contribute to peer review and multi-disciplinary review sessions for design assurance purposes
- Participate in safety in design workshops and actively implement outcomes
- Report progress and constraints to the Senior Engineer at regular intervals
- Consider constructability in all design outcomes and consult with relevant team members to ensure that design outcomes are constructible
- Follow digital engineering principles and project workflows/procedures for: front end design, detailing and submission
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering such as Bachelor of Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent Diploma
- Minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience working on design of road, rail, drainage or other infrastructure design
- Well-developed knowledge of 12D and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge used by relevant Australian Standards, within Queensland TMR and local authorities
- Experience and detailed technical understanding of infrastructure projects, specifically: early works, alignment design & earthworks, drainage, pavements, structures, fencing and road/tunnel safety
- Delivery of detailed design and documentation for infrastructure projects: reports, specifications, drawings and technical papers
- Understanding of the design development process: Ability to work to and report against the Project Schedule including Earned Value status reporting
- Understanding of value engineering Vs cost procedure
- Engineers’ Australia registration
- Chartered Professional Engineer, CPEng (or similar)
- Working knowledge of procedures used by and Transport for NSW relating to civil design and construction
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of OpenRoads
- Design experience using BIM and digital engineering tools
