About The Role
We are seeking a full time permanent Human Resources Advisor to join our established operations at Goonyella Riverside, reporting to the Project Manager. You will provide direction and support of various activities including performance and talent management, recruitment, employee and industrial relations, HR reporting, diversity and inclusion, as well as supporting local community initiatives at the BUMA Goonyella Riverside project.
Key Responsibilities
Located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, BMA’s Goonyella Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 30km from the town of Moranbah.
BUMA Australia provides labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations.

About The Role
We are seeking a full time permanent Human Resources Advisor to join our established operations at Goonyella Riverside, reporting to the Project Manager. You will provide direction and support of various activities including performance and talent management, recruitment, employee and industrial relations, HR reporting, diversity and inclusion, as well as supporting local community initiatives at the BUMA Goonyella Riverside project.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing end to end HR generalist support for the project, with a particular focus on supporting and coaching our leadership team on best practice employee engagement and people management processes
- Providing advice to employees and leaders on the site’s enterprise agreement
- Supporting our team of Brisbane based recruiters with key recruitment activities including candidate selection and ensuring new starters have a fantastic onboarding experience
- Using HR data strategically to help inform critical site processes and support frontline supervisors and leaders with key business decisions and employee management
- Working as part of the project management team aimed at embedding the BUMA culture within the project, with a key focus on engagement and development of our people
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable)
- Previous human resources experience working in a fast paced environment
- Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office package
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to plan, organise and resource effectively
- High level of initiative and the ability to influence outcomes through others
- 9 day fortnight roster (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday)
