We are seeking a dynamic Principal Human Resources Advisor to lead critical IR, WHS, and HR initiatives that shape the foundation of our workplace.

About The Role

As Principal Human Resources Advisor, you’ll play a central role in managing and delivering the organisation's human resource strategies, with a focus on Industrial Relations (IR), Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), and broader HR functions. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will provide high-level advice and drive key initiatives that support a compliant, safe, and engaged workplace.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making, influence policy, and represent the organisation in high-impact enterprise bargaining negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational advice on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) to ensure compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld).
  • Offer expert guidance on Industrial Relations (IR) and Human Resources (HR), including enterprise agreement and award interpretation.
  • Assist in leading and representing the organisation in enterprise bargaining negotiations, and liaise with relevant external stakeholders as required.
  • Drive and deliver HR and WHS projects that align with the organisation's strategic and operational goals.
  • Develop and review policies, procedures, and risk management strategies in the IR, WHS, and HR space.
  • Prepare briefing notes, reports, and correspondence for the Information Commissioner and Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, Queensland Government departments, and regulatory bodies.

About You You are a confident, solutions-oriented HR leader with:

  • Deep knowledge of Queensland’s IR and WHS legislative frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in high-level HR advisory roles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proven track record managing HR projects and negotiations in complex environments
  • A commitment to ethical leadership and organisational excellence
