About The Opportunity
We currently have a specialised opportunity for an experienced DSW to support a young female participant (age 9) living with Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis Type 2 (CLN2). This is a rare, degenerative neurological condition that requires high-level, attentive support.
You will be providing full assistance with daily living alongside the participant’s loving and supportive mother, who remains present 24/7 to help guide and support the care routine.
This is a contractual role—you will operate as a sole trader, giving you greater flexibility, higher hourly pay, and autonomy in how you deliver your service.

This is a contractual role—you will operate as a sole trader, giving you greater flexibility, higher hourly pay, and autonomy in how you deliver your service.
Support Requirements Include
- Seizure monitoring and management (silent seizures common – must remain alert)
- PEG feeding management (experience essential)
- Oral suctioning as required
- Continence care, including regular incontinence aid changes
- Full assistance with all activities of daily living (personal hygiene, repositioning, etc.)
- Comfort and reassurance, as she spends most of her day in a hospital bed
- Operate as a sole trader – full control over your hours
- Higher hourly rate – be paid for your skill and experience
- 24/7 access to our clinical nurse mentors (based in Sydney)
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance provided
- Take time off when needed – no rigid rosters
- Admin support and guidance for those interested in growing their own business
- Confident and competent with complex clinical care tasks
- Calm, compassionate, and experienced working with children
- Comfortable working in a team with the participant’s family
- Vigilant and capable of monitoring silent seizures
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (or equivalent)
- Must have experience in:
- PEG feeding
- Seizure monitoring
- Oral suctioning
- Personal & continence care
- Valid ABN (free and quick to apply under personal name)
- Police Check (within 3 years)
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC)
- Current First Aid (within 3 years) and CPR (within 1 year)
- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module: https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/workers/training-course
