Job details

The Case Manager is responsible for providing quality case management services to clients of Womens Homeless Support Services who are at risk of homelessness, with the overall aim of finding and sustaining long-term, safe and affordable housing.

Some of the Key Responsibilities;

  • Develop case plans
  • Guide clients to set realistic goals that address their needs
  • Maximise client opportunities to access and/or sustain appropriate accommodation
  • Ensure client information is up to date on Housing Pathways
  • Provide referrals to other services and pathways to employment and training
  • Maintain accurate and timely records
  • Prepare reports as required

Qualifications and Experience required;

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications ie Diploma of Community Services Work, Bachelor of Community Welfare, or Bachelor of Social Work
  • Minimum 4 years case management experience working in the CALD community
  • Demonstrated ability to work with women with mental health issues; substance abuse issues; and issues relating to domestic and family violence
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma and its impact on mental health and wellbeing, and the connections to cycles of homelessness and poverty as they apply to women
  • Desirable Relevant community language skills eg Vietnamese, Arabic or Farsi
  • Experience in the delivery of case management services in the community sector (preferably in homelessness or specialized services for women requiring crisis and support services
  • Mandatory National Criminal History Check and WWCC
  • NSW Drivers License
  • Being female is a genuine occupational requirement - Section 31 Anti-Discrimination Act 1977

Working with three other Case Managers in a 4-bedroom refuge you also will be community outreach based and work with a manageable case load.

This role is working with single women only in transitional housing. This role is available immediately. The hours are 9am 4.30pm with no on-call responsibilities. The hours are not flexible but 4 days a week may be accommodated.
