Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager you will be responsible for designing, delivering, coordinating, and supporting training programs specifically aimed at upskilling Busways maintenance workforce. The goal is to ensure the maintenance workforce maintains high performance, safety, and compliance with operational standards.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to design and deliver maintenance-related training, and any other technical training to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensures all training completions, attendance, assessments, and any other training records are securely maintained in Busways training record systems.
- Consults with key stakeholders, including asset maintenance managers, support office staff, staff representatives, training organisations, and vehicle manufacturers to identify training needs and facilitate the required training.
- Monitors and evaluates any external training, to ensure desired quality outcomes, are achieved.
- Designs, implements, and coordinates an apprentice training program that includes TAFE training, workshop supervised training, product training with continuous monitoring and review.
- Demonstrates, promotes, and coaches Supervisors on their responsibilities and practices in managing Apprentices and new employees.
- Manages the upskilling of current staff to ensure they are competent to maintain all new vehicles equipped with new and modern technologies, including the arrival of Zero Emission Buses.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties, as directed

What We’re Looking For In The Successful Candidate
- Hold an industry recognised mechanical qualification, preferable in Heavy Vehicle.
- Strong knowledge of training principles and adult learning techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Leadership capability, experience and demonstrated capacity to coach others.
- Creative thinker and proactive problem solver.
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Hold a current Unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State
- Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment ,extensive relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or adult education/training
