We are seeking applications for a temporary PO5 Senior Advisor, Students with Disability within the Disability System Policy team in the Student Support branch, Department of Education.
The Senior Advisor, Students with Disability works as part of a small but dynamic team responsible for disability policy and operational responses to optimise the access, participation and educational achievement of students with disability.
This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About The Role
As Senior Advisor, Students with Disability you will:
- Provide specialist policy and operational advice to departmental officers and stakeholders on a broad range of topics including reasonable adjustments, curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting to optimise the engagement and achievement of students with disability.
- Participate in project activities that undertake research, planning, analysis and evaluations of projects/programs to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives relevant to the education of students with disability and inclusive practices.
- Establish and cultivate effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy and operational responses related to disability policy, reasonable adjustments and inclusive education.
- Support and facilitate the implementation of statewide policies, guidelines and practices relating to the education of students with disability and inclusive practices.
- Develop and deliver high quality professional development and support to school staff and specialist personnel relating to inclusive practices and the educational needs of students with disability.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, submissions on a range of services and projects relevant to students with disability, and respond to related matters in briefings and correspondence.
The ideal applicant will possess:
- Attention to detail and excellent written and coordination skills.
- Highly effective and respectful stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to advise and guide schools or regions in the application of departmental policies and programs.
