About The Project
The Project involves the transition from an open pit mine to an underground mine, whereby ore will be mined from underground ore bodies using sub level cave mining techniques.
The Jwaneng diamond mine is currently an open pit mine located in south-central Botswana about 120 kilometers (75mi) west of Gaborone, in the Naledi river valley of the Kalahari. Jwaneng Mine is owned by Debswana, a partnership between the De Beers company and the government of Botswana.
We are seeking an experienced OHS Trainer, for a role at the Jwaneng Underground Project in Botswana. We are seeking people that are passionate about sharing their skills and knowledge of Australian Mining methods and processes to transfer to the Batswana workforce as part of an Integrated Operating Team with the Mine Owner.

We are seeking people that are passionate about sharing their skills and knowledge of Australian Mining methods and processes to transfer to the Batswana workforce as part of an Integrated Operating Team with the Mine Owner.
The Role Involves
- Manage and coordinate all safety and training functions for the project, ensuring adequate resources are provided to support the project operations.
- Prepare, deliver and facilitate project meetings as required.
- Facilitate and complete risk assessment, management of change and other associated HSET systems requirements.
- Maintain and develop the training requirements for all roles at the Project.
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
- Current Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) qualifications.
- Experience working as an expatriate will be highly regarded.
- 5+ years working in an underground mining environment.
- Ability and willingness to transfer/mentor their skills & knowledge to Batswana personnel.
- Adherence to all company safety standards, policies and procedures.
- A valid International Manual Driver's License, or the ability to obtain one.
- A positive work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto, Consider it done — safely.
