Senior Adviser

The Strategic Policy Group provides strategic advice, including the development of submissions to Government, to address current and emerging issues relevant to corrective services. Issues relating to the management of offenders are analysed to deliver policies that meet community needs and expectations.

Through the exchange of information with other relevant agencies, including international and interstate agencies, the Group optimises policy development and implementation.

Additionally, the Group proactively identifies the required future strategic organisational capabilities to ensure QCS is positioned to deliver on its long term goals.

In This Role You Will

• Prepare complex submissions and reports, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence for various audiences, including Cabinet,
  
  

Parliament and the general public.

• Analyse emerging issues relating to offenders/prisoners and corrective services that may be addressed through policy, legislative or procedural changes.
• Contribute to the development of QCS policies consistent with the Whole of Government agenda, and that meet community needs and expectations.
• Work collaboratively across the agency to identify emerging trends and assist with implementation of strategic policies and establish and implement protocols and procedures in accordance with relevant legislation.
• Maintain partnerships between QCS and other key stakeholders to inform strategic policy development and effectively meet the needs of clients.
