The Department of Education in the North Queensland region is looking for a Psychologist to join our school-based wellbeing teams at Thuringowa State High School and Weir State School.

About The Role

The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns in two of our Townsville-based schools, working across primary and secondary school.

Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Package work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.

As The Psychologist You Will

  • Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for the enhancement of all students' learning;
  • Provide services such as counselling, assessment and intervention, focusing on students' mental health and wellbeing.
