Barrett Adolescent School supports secondary students who have disengaged from mainstream schooling due to significant mental health challenges. Your Role:

This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.
This role includes grounds and garden maintenance, minor repairs, and support with day-to-day operational tasks. In addition, the Schools Officer will contribute to creating a positive school environment by supporting the smooth operation of facilities and working collaboratively with staff on school activities and events.

Key Responsibilities include:

Ensure the school grounds are well-maintained, including lawns, sports field and gardens
Perform regular inspections and maintenance of school building and facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety and functionality
Handle routine repairs, ensuring that equipment and systems are in working order

About You:

Previous experience in grounds maintenance, facilities management or similar roles
Basic knowledge of building systems, electrical, plumbing and maintenance is preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A passion for creating a safe and attractive environment for learning
