The Opportunity This is an exciting full-time secondment opportunity for a passionate pharmacist ready to step into a senior leadership role and further their hospital pharmacy career. As the Dispensary Team Leader at Epworth Richmond – one of Victoria’s busiest and most prestigious private hospitals – you’ll take charge of a high-performing dispensary team and play a key role in shaping service delivery across multiple sites, including Epworth Hawthorn and Thomas Embling Hospital.

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead day-to-day operations in a dynamic and fast-paced hospital environment, supported by a collaborative and experienced leadership team. You’ll gain valuable experience managing a large and diverse team of pharmacists and technicians, while building strong partnerships with clinicians, stakeholders, and other Slade and Icon teams across Melbourne.

Epworth Richmond is a leading private, not-for-profit hospital located on Bridge Road in Richmond, Victoria. As the flagship facility of Epworth HealthCare, it offers over 700 beds and a wide range of acute medical and surgical services, including a 24/7 emergency department, intensive care, oncology, cardiac care, orthopaedics, and advanced robotic surgery.

About The Role

As a Hospital Dispensary Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the hospital dispensary team, consisting of pharmacists and technicians.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and service delivery to Epworth Richmond and other client hospitals, including inpatient and discharge dispensing and provision of on-call services
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and work collaboratively to provide excellent customer service and support to Epworth, the Director of Pharmacy Richmond and other Slade Richmond Team Leaders
  • Manage and lead a large team of pharmacists and technicians, including recruitment, staff induction, management and performance reviews
  • Work together as part of the senior Richmond Leadership team
  • Liaise with other teams in Slade Richmond and the wider Slade network

About You

We are seeking experienced pharmacists with proven leadership skills to guide our team.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
  • Can-do attitude
  • High level of professionalism, accuracy and efficiency
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Previous experience directly or indirectly mentoring and supervising a team (desirable)
