About the role

As a Data Analyst, you will be working within the remediation and regulatory reporting team on the investigation, identification of potential root causes of issues and reconciliation of reporting. You will report to the remediation program manager and will be working closely with the Business Analysts and other developers across the data and IT streams.

Working as an integral part of Rabobank’s Remediation team, the data analyst is responsible for supporting the data lead with successfully planning, managing and delivering the Bank’s high visibility/critical projects. These projects are reported up to Senior Management locally and globally, the Board and regulators and are critical to execution of the Region Australia New Zealand (RANZ) strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support the remediation team to complete customer remediation investigations through business and data analysis
  • Drive solutions to assist in supporting tactical and strategic initiatives
  • Conduct impact assessment as a part of investigating potential regulatory breaches and business issues.
  • Visualisation and story boarding of results from data analysis and exploration
  • Opportunity to explore automation
  • Conduct reconciliation and analysis for regulatory reporting
  • Problem solving skills and ability to reconcile complex issues
  • Working with Business Analysts and various other business stakeholders across to map data driven requirements and understanding business requirements
  • Co-ordinate with Internal IT teams to implement the solution
  • Maintaining a real time schedule of analysis for different incidents within remediation team, using strong data analytical skills to deliver on agreed outcomes
  • Interrogate data feeds to identify and resolve data issues and noncompliance to data standards

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or IT background.
  • Experience at a professional level in similar or related IT business.
  • Desired technical proficiency writing SQL queries in SQL server/ Oracle for data analysis
  • Strong attention to details, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Substantial experience and proven capacity in financial reporting and regulatory analysis.
  • Support data validation and reconciliation on remediation payment runs for impacted clients.
  • Knowledge of Core banking Systems such as Temenos, T24 and working with Xml data would be an advantage but not essential
  • Gathering data requirements, documentation and end to end testing.
  • Critical thinking and Presentation skills
