As Transport / Logistics Manager - Victoria, you will be responsible for negotiating, analysing and optimising Transport operations for the Victorian Container Scheme (Zone East) by optimising routing, operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance. As Transport / Logistics Manager - Victoria, you will be responsible for negotiating, analysing and optimising Transport operations for the Victorian Container Scheme (Zone East) by optimising routing, operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance. Your expertise in data analysis, modelling and planning will core skills. Optimisation techniques will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing effective solutions.
You Will
- Conduct data analysis and evaluate the performance of our logistics subcontractors / partners to identify areas for improvement.
- Utilise optimization models, to develop and implement logistics strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimise resources.
- Collaborate with depots and partner network to gather data and insights necessary for analysis and optimization.
- Analyse transportation routes and logistics partners to identify opportunities for optimisation, such as reducing transit times, minimizing transportation costs, and improving service levels.
- Develop and maintain logistics performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and forecasting models to analyse demand patterns, anticipate future requirements, and optimise inventory levels.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies for proposed logistics optimization initiatives and provide recommendations to management based on your findings.
To be successful you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in supply chain and Transport logistics or related field
- Previous experience in logistics analysis, optimization, and supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of optimisation techniques, mathematical modelling, and statistical analysis.
- Advanced skills in data analysis and visualisation using tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Python.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems
