We currently have a great career opportunity in our thriving Brisbane office, for an ambitious senior Geotechnical engineer with 3-6 years’ experience, looking to take an important step their career.
You will be working with a supportive team of engineering geologists, civil and geotechnical engineers who are leaders in their field. Our projects can be multidisciplinary, where you will have the opportunity within SLR to interact and work with industry leading professionals in civil engineering, geochemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology, environment and closure.
Responsibilities
As part of our dynamic national team, you will be responsible for carrying out services that range in assisting with preparing tenders and proposals, provide technical advice to clients and colleagues and working in a combination of office based and fieldwork activities.
You will be supported by Principal Engineering to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of geotechnical methods and techniques to solve complex problems. At anytime you could be working on a range of technical tasks, including:
- Geotechnical investigations and Characterisation
- Engineering geological and geomorphological terrain evaluation
- Landslide / Slope Risk Assessment
- Slope Stability Analysis
- Ground Improvement and Remediation Design
- Tailings Dam design, management, and operation
- Instrumentation and monitoring data interpretation
- Construction QA/QC and;
- Project Management and delivery
Experience
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:
- Between 3-6 years’ hands on experience with some being in the consulting sector.
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
- Excellent report writing and communication and demonstrated experience delivering on time and on budget
- Must have an excellent attitude and be capable of working within a dynamic environment
- Well-developed creative, lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
- Motivation for continuous improvement and professional development
- Post-graduate qualifications are advantageous

Salary for the role is negotiable on experience, between $85,000 and $110,000 total package, as well as additional benefits. You can find a comprehensive list here.
