K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Joining our technical services department, this role is responsible for providing effective survey support to the operations and management of the national survey department. A key responsibility is the requirement to enable and implement processes, procedures, control systems and practices to enhance survey compliance with the PNG law and improve capability and capacity of the Survey Team.

Key / Major Accountabilities

• Oversee all survey requirements for Surface and Underground - LOM voids model, UG development mark-ups & pick-ups, UG ring design and cable-bolt mark-ups
• Maintain an up-to-date LOM voids model
• Ensure all aspects of mining operations design and planning comply with Company policy and statutory requirements including health and safety, environment, and agreement with landowners.
• Optimize operational mining efficiency, maintaining cost control and maximizing production.
• Establish a high-performance culture by motivating team members to achieve a high level of performance and by rewarding and recognising high performance.
• Ensure effective processes for communicating relevant information, including company, site, department, and team performance, to all team members are in place.
• Actively manage the work performance of direct reports and the development of talent and succession for designated key roles.
• Mentor, coach, and train team members to improve the capability of the team members and commercial capability and acumen across all departments.
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
• Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.
• Ensure survey work and activities are conducted by competent technicians in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.
  

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor`s Degree in Surveying, Spatial Science or equivalent
• 8+ years relevant underground mining in a supervisory role is essential.
• Previous experience working in Papua New Guinea or a developing country will be advantageous.
• Computer proficiency in DESWIK software is essential
• Experience performing Surface and UG drone flights.
