What You'll Do: As a Senior Domain Expert B2, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of SMS technology. You'll work with a dynamic team of experts to develop innovative solutions, optimise existing systems, and ensure seamless integration with new technologies. Your expertise will help us stay ahead of the curve and deliver exceptional results to our clients.
Focus of the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Domain Expert to join our Network Engineering team. This role is critical in ensuring that the Telstra network, especially the Mobile Messaging SMSC platform, delivers a superior network experience for our consumer and business customers. You will leverage your deep telecommunications network expertise to provide specialist analysis, design, development, automation, and deployment in network-specific technology domains. This includes developing platform-specific technology roadmaps and making technology investment recommendations for Short Message Service (SMS).

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, installation, integration, and maintenance of SMS messaging technologies, platforms, and systems.
- Gather and review messaging requirements and user stories, provide estimates, create design specifications, and work with engineers and architects to assess and test software and hardware interactions.
- Develop and execute automated test plans based on business requirements, working with engineers, architects, and clients to validate test environments and results.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Engineers to address business needs and develop solutions for messaging technologies.
- Provide regular project updates, both in writing and verbally, to key stakeholders.
What We're Looking For:
- A deep understanding of SMS technology and its applications
- Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- A passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends
Qualifications:
- Deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in Telco technologies, specifically SMS, SS7, SIP, Diameter, and Software Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience with a minimum bachelor's degree in software engineering, Telecom Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in Requirement Analysis, Application Design, Programming, Automation, Design Thinking, and overall Software Development Life cycle.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical procedures and relevant solutions to senior stakeholders.
