Our Technical, Advisory, and Capability (TAC) practice and Team Downer serves as one of the Major Service Providers delivering consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, leveraging innovative approaches such as mission and digital engineering to enable the successful delivery of critical Defence programs. This includes engagement with key areas across Defence including Defence Digital Group (DDG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), and the Navy, Army, and Air Force.

We are currently seeking candidates for the next phase of a major Defence information environment modernisation program aimed at delivering the design, build, and deployment of their cutting-edge ICT environment.

We are sourcing Security Technician with the following experience:

  • Directly contribute to the design, build, deployment and transition of cyber security solutions aligned with recognized best practice, Defence security policies, principles and frameworks.
  • Work with internal and external technical teams to ensure integration and operation of cyber security tools with all ICT services in the Minerva stack.
  • Conduct set-to-work activities and support remediation of cyber toolsets on Minerva systems.
  • Author, review, maintain and contribute to Solution Designs, Standard Operating Procedures, As-Built-As-Configured and other required documentation artefacts.

This role is based in Canberra, ACT . Candidates with experience working within the maritime domain will be highly regarded.

Our work is highly complex and confidential; applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV2 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions individuals who are dual citizens, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.

We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the follow areas:

  • Experience working as a Security Technician within the Defence environment.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and supporting cyber toolsets on large scale, deployable systems operating in low bandwidth, geographically dispersed environments.
  • Strong knowledge and experience deploying and integrating FortiClient/FortiEMS, FortiSandbox, Ivanti Device and Application Control and Tanium Endpoint Management System.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles including Zero trust model, Tiered model, Security boundaries.
