About the Team
The Customer Compliance Performance team is undergoing significant transformation, creating exciting new opportunities to join at a pivotal time, where you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact. This team provides specialist compliance expertise to the Customer Business Unit, supporting effective compliance management and ensuring EnergyAustralia’s regulatory obligations, governance systems, processes, and frameworks meet both industry standards and customer expectations. About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Customer Compliance Performance Team, as a Compliance Control Lead. In this role, you will act as the trusted compliance advisor to Business Unit leaders, providing expert guidance on compliance risk identification, control design and implementation, and remediation. With a focus on compliance prevention and detection and capability uplift, the role ensures compliance is proactively managed and integrated into everyday operations. Other aspects of the role include:

  • Act as the primary compliance advisor to designated Customer Business Unit teams
  • Review compliance performance reports, incident and breach reporting and testing results with Customer Business Unit leaders and develop plans to address key issues and trends
  • Support Customer Business Unit teams in understanding and maintaining compliance obligations, ensure well defined and effective controls are in place and process maps are maintained and updated
  • Support Business Unit in designing and implementing controls, ensuring they’re effective and comply with Energy Australia risk appetite limits
  • Apply an independent lens to incidents, breaches and audit findings and support Customer Business Unit Leaders in the development of remediation plans and treatments
  • Provide compliance expertise and advice to business initiatives and changes
  • Support Customer Business teams to implement and comply with frameworks, process and regulatory requirements
  • Provide coaching and support to Customer Business Unit leaders and deliver training sessions to build compliance capability

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in similar operational risk compliance or assurance role, with a strong understanding of operational risk, frameworks, processes, assurance programs and regulatory requirements. Other things we’re keen on include:

  • Strong understanding of the Energy sector and regulatory environment is highly desirable
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset, with a strong ability to solve complex problems
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks and industry standards
  • Adaptable and proactive, ready to tackle challenges in a dynamic setting
