We are currently hiring Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist to join our growing internal Talent Acquisition team. This position will support Team Downer and be responsible for building candidate pipeline of technical or non-technical resources for our integrated Work Packages.

Our Team Downer business unit delivers professional services to Defence. Team Downer collaborates with clients across the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and the National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) to help them achieve their mission.


We are currently hiring Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist to join our growing internal Talent Acquisition team. This position will support Team Downer and be responsible for building candidate pipeline of technical or non-technical resources for our integrated Work Packages.

We're proud of all we've achieved so far but there's much more to do. And your role, as a Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist, will be critical in helping us to build a better, stronger, more agile DPS.


To succeed in this endeavour, you will:

  • Proactively build, manage, and maintain a pipeline of active candidates as aligned to our capabilities covering technical (engineering and logistics) or non-technical capability (program, project and commercial).
  • Supporting end to end recruitment processes (advertising, conducting proactive searches using Linked In and Seek talent Search, security checks, background checks, screening, interview scheduling, feedback and candidate care)
  • Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on attracting, qualifying and calibration of candidates.
  • Contribute to the broader DPS People strategy by contributing to data collection efforts, for example, competitor intel, market rates.


Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you can also expect to be involved in the advancement of our Talent Acquisition function from extending our Diversity and Inclusion efforts, to assisting on a variety of internal people projects.


We're looking for:

Experience sourcing or recruiting for either:

  • Technical capability such as Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, Technical Business Analysts; or:
  • Project delivery capability such as Project Managers, Project Support Officers
  • It would be an advantage to have defence experience or experience sourcing for or recruiting for talent with defence experience.
  • Experience using tools such as LinkedIn, Seek Talent Search.
  • Proficient search methodologies and ability to think outside the box to engage and identify the right candidates.
  • Highly effective communication style teamed with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to be a change driver: the desire to do the right thing, have challenging conversations where needed and be an advocate for our diversity and inclusion efforts.

As we are a business that supports Defence, we need you to be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA security clearance.
